Create a Workbench

Workbench allows you to explore and query your data sources visually — no SQL required. Build queries with drag & drop, apply filters and aggregations, and export results to Excel.

Key features:

  • Visual query builder: drag fields to build queries without writing SQL. Suitable for both technical and non-technical users.
  • Aggregations and filters: apply functions (SUM, AVG, COUNT...), cuts, sorting, and pagination directly from the UI.
  • Export results: download query results in Excel format for further analysis.

How to create one

  1. Navigate to the file explorer on the left sidebar.
  2. Click the "+" button (or right-click) to open the resource creation menu.
  3. Select Workbench from the list of available resource types.
  4. Give it a meaningful name — it will appear in your current directory.
tip

A Workbench requires at least one data source configured in your project. Make sure you have one before creating a Workbench.

Managing your Workbench

Like any other resource in MINEO, a Workbench supports the following actions from the file explorer context menu:

  • Favorite — pin it for quick access
  • Clone — duplicate it with its current configuration
  • Export / Import — share it across projects
  • Rename / Move / Delete — organize it in your directory

Next steps

Once created, open your Workbench to start building queries. See the Overview page for a detailed guide on the query interface.
